The McGovern Centennial Gardens are a group of gardens located in Hermann Park in Houston Texas, in the United States. The hours of operation for the McGovern Centennial Gardens vary seasonally, and they are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The public is welcome to visit the Gardens for free.

The Hoerr Schaudt and White Oak Studio firms that specialize in landscape architecture created the McGovern Centennial Gardens, which were inaugurated in 2014. The primary entrance to the gardens is framed by the Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion, which was created by Peter Bohlin of Bohlin Cywinski Jackson.

The primary entrance to the gardens is framed by the Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion, which was created by Peter Bohlin of Bohlin Cywinski Jackson. A pool (with six evenly placed jets) in front of the pavilion serves as the foreground for a 350-foot-long greensward that is divided into sections by two cross-axial walks and bordered by dense vegetation, gravel walkways, and pergolas.

The Gardens, which bring a fresh perspective to Houston's garden attractions, were created especially for Hermann Park. The Centennial Green is a large central lawn with several themed garden rooms that are home to more than 490 new trees of more than 50 species, 760 hedge shrubs, 55,000 perennial bulbs, 650 azaleas, and 4.5 acres of grass. Along with an instructive Family Garden that grows seasonal vegetables, herbs, and fruit trees, they also include the Arid Garden, Rose Garden, Celebration Garden, Woodland Garden, and Rose Garden. The Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion, which was created by Peter Bohlin, the architect of all Apple stores worldwide, serves as the primary entrance to the Gardens.

Our special outdoor venue for events is called the Celebration Garden. Your event area is stunning all year round thanks to the lush landscaping and artificial grass lawn. Despite being large enough to host seated receptions for up to 270 guests or seated ceremonies for 300, the Celebration Garden has a private air because of the thick hedges that surround it. If desired, the area can be tent-covered.
