The Houston Zoo offers a fascinating, different, and motivational experience that promotes respect, awareness, and care for the natural world. The Zoo is like a miniature metropolis that encompasses a vast array of environments and activities.

Houston TX , We house, feed, tend to their medical needs, and yes, even educate our over 6000 permanent residents (our animals)! Additionally, we welcome more than 1.84 million visitors annually, who come to see the astonishing range of creatures and ecosystems we have as well as to enjoy entertainment at special private and public events. For the safety and wellbeing of our residents and visitors, our committed staff works around-the-clock to maintain a smooth operation at the Zoo.

A whole day is required to see the entire zoo. Take plenty of water (without any displays). My kids are 7, 3, and 1 years old. They went for five hours.

The Zoo offers a fascinating and enjoyable experience that unites people with animals to spur conservation efforts. Where else can you see Asian elephants, California sea lions, and African lions?

The Houston Zoo is dedicated to being a leader in the worldwide movement to rescue animals in the wild and connects communities with animals to encourage action to save biodiversity. We provide the best level of animal care for our nearly 6,000 permanent residents (our animals).

We welcome over two million visitors a year who come to see our amazing creatures and ecosystems and who, by purchasing an entry ticket or a membership, assist us in funding the protection efforts of every species at the Zoo's wild counterparts. Visitors to the Zoo help us fund 49 wildlife conservation programs in 27 different nations. We take pride in being the second-most frequented zoo in the US and the most popular tourist destination in the area.
