In Sunland Park, New Mexico, there is a 30-acre amusement park called Western Playland. From 1960 until 2006, it was situated in El Paso, Texas' Ascarate Park. However, following disagreements with El Paso County, owner Pat Thompson made the decision to relocate it to Sunland Park, where the proprietor of Sunland Park Casino gave land that is directly across from his casino. The Hurricane, Tsunami, El Bandido Roller Coaster, Paratrooper, Round up, Tilt-a-Whirl, Pharaoh's Fury, Scrambler, Himalaya, and other rides can be found there. The park is typically open from March through October. With the exception of the high summer season, it only opens on the weekends for the majority of the year.
Daily: $30 for unlimited rides; $20 for juniors (under 48") - Westchester residents are entitled to a $5 discount on these costs with valid residency documentation. Residents of Westchester County pay no admission fees, while non-residents must pay $10.
