In Nashville, Tennessee, there is a hotel and convention center called Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, formerly known as Opryland Hotel. Marriott International runs it; Ryman Hospitality Properties owns it. It is one of the 30 largest hotels in the world and has 2,888 rooms.

The Opryland Hotel was initially constructed to assist the Grand Ole Opry, a Nashville country music institution that had relocated to the area three years earlier, and it opened its doors on November 26, 1977, on property adjacent to the Opryland USA amusement park. The Delta Atrium, with its Cajun-themed design and quarter-mile-long indoor river, was this addition's distinguishing feature. In order to transport visitors along the river and through a water display with jets that were coordinated to music, flatboats were introduced.
