Phoenix Art Museum

The Phoenix Art Museum is the largest museum for visual art in the southwest of the United States, with a vast collection of well-regarded works of art dating from the Renaissance to the present. With a focus on the museum's art collection, the Lemon Art Research Library is a non-circulating research library. More than 40,000 books, journals, artist files, and other materials are included. It is the biggest specialized library for the fine arts in the area. Whenever it is open to the public, it is free.

The establishment of the Phoenix Art Center under the aegis of the Federal Art Project of the Works Progress Administration in 1936 marked the next significant development in the neighborhood's artistic scene.
