Coors Field

The baseball stadium Coors Field is located in downtown Denver, Colorado. The Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball call it home. The park was established in 1995 and is situated two blocks from Union Station in Denver's Lower Downtown district. For baseball, the stadium can hold up to 50,144 spectators. The Rockies were an expansion team that debuted in 1993 and played their first two seasons at Mile High Stadium.

Coors Field was built at a cost of $300 million during that time. It has 4,526 club seats and 63 luxury suites. Due to the impact of Denver's high elevation and semi-arid climate on the distances of batted balls, Coors Field has developed a reputation as a hitter's park. Baseballs used in the park have been kept in humidors ahead of time as a preventative measure, and the outfield fences have been moved farther from home plate.

The 1998 MLB All-Star Game and the 2021 MLB All-Star Game were both held at Coors Field. Along with various concerts, Coors has also hosted an outdoor hockey game from the 2016 NHL Stadium Series. Coors Field might need $200 million in capital improvements in the 2020s, a consultant estimated in 2017.

In a six-year span, Coors Field, Ball Arena, and Empower Field at Mile High were among Denver's sports stadiums that underwent upgrades (originally sponsored by INVESCO). Since the construction of Dodger Stadium in 1962, it was also the first National League facility dedicated solely to baseball.

A microbrewery/restaurant called The Blue Moon Brewery at The Sandlot is located behind the right-field stands and has entrances on Blake Street and Coors Field. The Coors Brewing Company runs the brewery, which conducts small-scale craft beer experiments. The Brewery has received numerous honors in a variety of categories from the Great American Beer Festival.

It is a pitcher's worst nightmare and a hitter's paradise. The home of the Colorado Rockies, Coors Field, is located in the streets of downtown Denver at a mile above sea level. The thin atmosphere of the Mile High City has long favored hitters. Before Major League Baseball gave the city a franchise, minor league teams, most notably the Denver Bears, played their home games at Mile High Stadium. Local government leaders looked for a professional baseball team to join the Denver Broncos (NFL) and Denver Nuggets as the city expanded in the 1970s and 1980s (NBA).This is one of the first new parks created particularly for the National League, a modern stadium with an antique ambiance.
